To be proud of your self!

Two last days and actually last weeks were very tough. Work, responsibilities, difficult relationships, heavy aggressive people and lots of negativity around. As always it all came at the same moment without any capable support from friends and family (to be honest I try to avoid overcomplicate my friends' life since their life sometimes not easier than mine). My head was so stiff, that I couldn't even relax and thing of something else apart from problems. So I have decided to observe some positivity in google.
The last but not the least bit of the article I found:
5. Appreciate the little things.
“Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon.”
Daily happiness is to a large part about appreciating the small things.
If you just allow yourself to be happy when accomplishing a big goal or when you have some great luck then you are making life harder than it needs to be.
Instead, focus on appreciating things that you may take for granted.
Take 2 minutes and find things in your life you can appreciate right now. If you want some ideas, here are a few of the simple things that I like to appreciate:
  • My food.
  • The weather.
  • My health.
  • Friends and family.
  • This website and the opportunity to write about what I want.
  • You, the reader.
  • Myself and the fine things about me.
The funny thing is that if you just start appreciating something you can very quickly start jumping around with your attention and appreciate just about anything around you.
You may start with the food you are eating right now. Then move your attention to the phone and appreciate that you can contact anyone – and be contacted by anyone – you’d like.
You might then move your attention outside, through the window and see the wonderful sunshine, then kids having fun with a football and then the tree by the road turning into wonderful autumn colors. And so on.
It might not sound like much. But this simple 2 minute exercise can help you to uncover a lot of the happiness that is already in your daily life.

And here we come...
My food - yes happy.
Weather - well not really but what can we do.
Friends and family - yes, nice time to time, mostly great but not always next to you as we all travel so much.
Myself and the fine things about me.... - amm hmm. I wouldn't say that I have problems with self esteem. But I can't say that I can be proud of myself for being helpful or supportive when its needed. I can not be 100% proud of me being honest, respectful enough and well-wishing. Usually I have (maybe you too) those moments wham I get happy and positive, give away so much love and that I get annoyed with doing too much and stop it all, expecting the same love back which not always come back. What I experienced that others are just not doing anything and not expecting anything good back... It could be an illusion but there are not many kind and welcoming people out there on the streets...
Therefore I have taken a solution and accepted a daily challenge: to do at least one good thing to someone... it can be a stranger or a best friend. Don't consider it to be vainly but I just want to start being proud of myself for not think solely of my own benefit but spread positivity everyday! It may sound very silly and desperate but there must be the way out of egoism and self-concentration. So many societies live hating each other for being hated by each other. Here is my remedy, come join me for a positive mind thinking challenge! :)

Talking a bit more personal today, just want to share with You and the The Corner OME, what does mean memories to me and just think what drags you back to that particular moment.

There are a few amazing tools that make us travel around the past: smells, songs and places or even a taste of food. Just remember what evokes you smell of cigarettes, different perfumes, smell of food, even a smell of the air.

Even scary, how little sense can make you travel in the past or bring the memories of some moment when this smell was especially used!

This sunday morning a smell on the street made me suddenly feel to be in Italy having my ordinary, at that time, breakfast with a friend.

Recently I have bought coffee seeds for my breakfasts, normally I never drink coffee at home but there was the only one moment... When I used to live in Florence and I have met with one very lovely person, who later became very special to me and for whom I bough this coffee so I could welcome him with his preferred drink. Meanwhile he was away I used to sip this drink every morning before going to work. Now 3 years later, when I wake up in my Notting Hill flat and go straight to the kitchen and feel that unusual smell of coffee which immediately brings me back to this beautiful period of my life that reminds me summer, happiness and that magical feeling of being in love.

There was a time when I used to live in Milan meanwhile did a summer course, and used walk to school in the early mornings, when sun was still raising and you could feel this fresh and chill air. Now every time I walk though early morning streets and feel this fresh but warm wind I immediately have an impression going to this school. The funny thing that I don't even remember what in particular course taught me, but this fresh air will stay forever with me!

This list can easily go on and on!

The music, that particular song that you always used to listen on vocations, that use to play in every cafe and every passing by car. One time I on purpose listened to the same set of songs while chilling out by pool... and yes, it worked, whenever I listen to this set of songs it makes me feel being on this sun bed next to this very pool.
And what about places? Your favourite hang out place where you always used to go with your friends or that restaurant, where you always used to go with you boyfriend and so people, food, smell ambience everything associates with him.

What's more interesting that those resources are even stronger than any picture been taken during this time.

Wise versa

Simple rules to live this week wisely:

1. Start to appreciate silence, normally we are scared of it. Happens to everyone to tell something stupid just to brake an awkward hush or turn music on just to avoid inconvenient solitude. But remember that only in a calm state of mind you can hear your heart beat and what it whispers. Do not mess up gracefullmess of peace.

2. Try to avoid to shout loud about your plans and never show off your wealth, jealousy has never been canceled. We know that it won't really affect you that much, but it may harm someone's feelings and created misguided attitude, that we may not want it to be happened. Let ordinary people think that you are ordinary and special people, that are close to your heart, know how special they are, so share with them your true feelings, hopes, dreams, goals and desires simply because they love you and wish to see you happy.

3. You don't need to talk if there is nothing to say. Words should have a meaning and a weight. If those words do to represent your true thoughts and feelings, than again keep the golden silence. It takes a word to kill or to animate - that is how powerful words are. So use this weapon wisely.

4. Always have a dream or a goal, that is what will make your day to go with a flow. Motivation is a great driver that will never keep you bored. Also nice to know that passion will set you young forever and help you go through daily troubles.

5. On the way to your dream, be grateful for what you have. Being constantly concentrated to obtain, can dismiss something that you already have. Look around, life is a magical creation that does not need to be complaigned about.

6. Be honest with your self. Be honest with your friend's and family. What's the point of pretending? Giving is a new receiving, but even better! In another words you recieve what you give. So please, be sincere and generous.

7. Try to keep a balance in everything you do. Extremes are fun but equilibrium and yin yang will never go out of fashion because it is the most refind formula of life.

Wisdom is not being smart or cleaver, it is being kind and happy!
We wish you a great week!

Quick Start

Good Monday morning world!

It’s mid March any day soon and while many of you have perhaps already felt that shift in the air and are more than ready for spring/summer 2014 days to come (especially wardrobe-wise), I feel absolutely some urge on my side as well as new season's stuff definitely does not derserve to be locked away in closets any longer. Though I’m pretty much a black cat I love wearing whites at the moment as we’ve survived the darkest season by now and only brighter days are ahead. Oh my god, I think I am suffering from that obligatory spring craziness ... Happy Monday morning to all of you!

Women's day

 I Wish

I wish you always to love me,
the way that I love you
I wish you could be near me
like I want you to

I wish I could share with you
All my hopes and dreams
But all my wishing is in vain
that is the way it seems

I'd like to know what it is like

to lose myself in you
To know I'm loved above all things
Would be a dream come true

To be your one and only
to comfort and assure
That every need of yours is met
With love that is so pure

If wishing could make this come to pass
Then here is where you'd be

In just the twinkling of an eye
With arms encircling me

Though wishing will not make it so
This much I know is true
I'll think..and hope..but I
will never stop wishing for you...

Dear ladies!

I wish you to love and to be loved
I wish you to shine and to be lightened
To be the only and unique
Remember that you are unlike
To smile for life
And have your heart alive.

Happy women's day!

Made in Russia results

As been promised, here are results!

In the survey has been participated 80 people (the research is still on and responses are still welcomed!)

General information of participants:
- 55 are women and 26 - men (68%, 32% respectively)
- 43% aged up to 24, 40% up to 34, 12% up to 44, and minority are slightly older than 44.
- All different nationalities from different countries. (many Russians, some Americans and British etc.)

Coming to the analysis, majority are actually unfamiliar with russian art, which is not a surprise. Although Russia always had a great identity, with a rich history and know-how in many industries, apparently advertising and marketing is the one which is missing in that list, probably that is the reason why you don't know anything about russian culture.

35% of those who are familiar with it, have identified it as "Interesting, promising, exotic", "Niche, avant-garde, emerging", many people called it classic/traditional, young, edgy, minimalistic and clean and in the same time many called it chic, rich, gold, show off and initially expansive. Quite controversial...
Now we can see that russian art culture hasn't got its' place in the opinionated wold. Which is a good and a bad thing. Perception of Russian style is getting over to its' show off, no taste and tacky image. But which direction does it takes, we don't know yet.

Returning to russian fashion, Gosha Rubinskiy and Julia Nikolaeva are actually quite known, although only by Russians and some fashion experts. Obviously if you follow "street look" blogs and press, than you definitely know Uliana Sergeenko and Vika Gazinskaya, who are fashion designers and paradoxically invited to all fashion shows in Paris.

Almost no one shopped at russian designers, but a small group of 11 people actually purchased some items from Gosha Rubchinskiy, Yadviga Locika, Elena Suprun, Vassa, Alena Akhmadulina, and of course Simachev (must-have in Russia a few year ago).
On average they have spent 201-301£ per item and were actually happy wearing it afterwards, although many wish it were chipper.

80% of those who wasn't familiar with russian art culture actually would be very interested in learning something about it.

86% of participants would also shop at those designers, as long as the items are nice and at appropriate quality. The reason is freshness and newness. Famous Russians also were the inspiration to follow their look.

Emerging young designers can not rely on customers' support, unless the clothes are really edgy and bold and there is nothing with support itself. Customers are willing to pay only if the item worth the money it requests.
The best comment comes from Brazilian journalist "they can ask their parents for support".

And yes, participants are from a totally different background, many students, some engineers, sportsmen, many working in art and fashion industries: director, journalist, jewellery designer etc.

If you are not agreed with results and would like to leave your voice, please clic on the link!

Personally #TheCornerOME thinks that Russian fashion has got a good initiatives and great style, but  unfortunately not all designers. Some brands are still rough and immature to be sold at the price requested and to be distributed at the international level.

"Made in Russia"

Congratulations to everyone on the final arrival and first day of Winter Olympic games in Sochi!
Beautiful, elegant and gigantic opening ceremony! (Video to come)

This event has made someone proud of Russia, by remembering success, victories and cultur having done an input in a history of the world, which perhaps sliped off many minds. Some got into it with a big interest to research further what they've learned tonight. Others hated it and rather prefer to narrow their minds on the Russian Gay laws and perceptions to this delicate question (as if there are no other issue to raise).

Would you consider this Olympics to be a first step into a new era of grand development of Russia?
How will it impact into russian fashion industry? No sense to straggle! Let's clear it up and see in a couple of weeks a new post with all results!

Dear Friend, as mentioned, this research is dedicated to estimate potential success of emerging "Made in Russia" fashion concept and it’s popularity oversees (UK or any other country).
